After working in a typical primary care setting with insurance for almost two decades, I decided the only way to be able to actually work for my patients was to get outside of the insurance system. The insurance-based model does not make for happy doctors or happy patients. I started Blossom Health to offer a membership-based model that allows necessary time to really serve patients’ needs - health care that is personal, convenient, comprehensive, timely, and transparent.
Dr. Tipton completed dual residencies in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 2006 and returned to Utah, where she joined a private practice and became a partner within a year. Over 18 years, she helped grow the practice to two locations, 22 providers, and thousands of patients, gaining expertise as both a physician and a business leader navigating a profit-driven healthcare system.
In 2015, she began advocating for primary care reform, fair payment systems, and addressing pharmaceutical pricing issues. In 2024, she left insurance-based practice to open a solo direct primary care practice, believing this model best serves patients with personalized, transparent, and accessible care.
